SURFACE

  When you pierce in a completely flat area, it is called surface piercing. Because the jewelry sits close to the surface, it is easier for the body to expel the jewelry. These piercings take at least 6-12 months to heal.

MICRODERMAL

  A microdermal is a small plate with a hole in it, and a rod that sticks out through the skin. These are also called surface anchors, dermal anchors or just anchors. As a surface, this is a type of piercing that can easily be pushed out of the body, and requires careful consideration. Microdermals and surface tend to fit best where the skin is thick and tight. Grow time minimum 4-6 months.
